C Plus
C Plus is Mainliners confidential information, advice and support service for individuals living with or affected by Hepatitis C. Its services are available for anyone in Edinburgh and the Lothians. C Plus delivers services in line with the values and aims of Mainliners. C Plus is funded by NHS Lothian and the City of Edinburgh Council, Drug and Alcohol Action Team.
Mapping UK Hepatitis Services Provision
The data collated in the newly launched UK Hepatitis Services Directory shall be examined by geographic region in England, Scotland and Wales. Service provision will be correlated with prevalence levels for hepatitis B and C to identify gaps or unmet needs by early 2007.
Mapping Hepatitis Training and Education
The Centre is funded by NHS Education Scotland to map the extent of training and education on hepatitis C that is available across Scotland. The project is one of the actions on ‘Education, Training and Awareness Raising’ detailed in the Hepatitis C Action Plan for Scotland – Phase 1 Sep 2006 – Aug 2008. However, we have permission to expand this as a UK wide activity in line with the geographic remit of the Centre.
Snapshot of Young Persons Awareness of Hepatitis C
The Centre is currently raising awareness of hepatitis C at Higher Education Freshers Fayres across the UK. In the process, we are undertaking a survey of their awareness and understanding of hepatitis C. This will input to national government campaigns ongoing in England (FaceIt Campaign); due to start in Scotland and under consideration in Wales.
Online Information Centre
The Centre will continue to transform its web site into a user friendly resource for anyone wishing to know more about hepatitis C, our services and more. Ideas are still evolving but a library of key documents and a signposting portal are on the way.
Any more ideas? We’d love to hear from you. Help us bring them to life to help others!
