 Dr Jeffrey Victor
Lazarus, PhD, MIH, MA,
is the advocacy and community relations adviser at the Communicable Diseases
Unit at WHO Europe. From 1998 to 2004 he was the editor of Entre Nous, the European Magazine for
Sexual and Reproductive Health, and from 2001 to 2004, he worked as
publication manager for the European Observatory on Health Systems and
Policies. He has further worked as a public health consultant for Sida and
UNICEF and holds a position as external lecturer in public health at Copenhagen University. He is the author of a
dozen peer-reviewed articles and recent publications include the books Hepatitis
C among injecting drug users in the new EU member states and neighbouring countries
and HIV/AIDS in Europe: Moving from Death Sentence to Chronic Disease
Management.
