Harry_Shapiro.jpgHarry Shapiro is Director of Communications and Information for DrugScope, the UK’s primary drug information and policy charity.  DrugScope is also the main representative body for those working in the drugs field whether in health, education or criminal justice.

 

Harry Shapiro joined what was then called the Institute for the Study of Drug Dependence in 1979 (DrugScope was formed in 2000) and has held a number of different positions including Head of Publishing, Head of Information Services and editor of DrugScope’s bi-monthly magazine Druglink.  He is one of DrugScope’s main media spokespeople and has regularly appeared on radio and television both in the UK and overseas, commenting on a range of national and international drug issues.

 Harry Shapiro is a frequent conference speaker and has been a guest lecturer for various academic and vocational addiction courses. He has also written many of DrugScope’s publications as well as books and articles on drugs and drug-related issues.
